This was a cool idea I got the other day (like, month ago)...when I was playing SEGAs great game "Yakuza" on the PS2. "Why don't I do a fanart of Mario & Luigi with big Mario-themed tattoos, Yakuza style!?"
So I did.
Turned out kinda great. Had loads of fun drawing as much of the the Mario Universe in such a limited space, included alot of different characters and stuff tho, can you see 'em all? I especially like Bowser & Yoshi with that "chinese dragon" moustahce going on
Including Peach on Marios back was fun too, I've actually got a book about Yakuza-tattoos (intresting stuff those) where a dude had a full portrait of a (his wife I think) woman on his back. So I instantly decided that Peach would fit great on Marios back

Yakuza tattoos are a phenomenal...phenomenon (!?) I say, real cool shit if you ask me.
For those who don't know what the hell I'm talking about here the quick low-down:
1. Yakuzas have tattoos, big ones, and even having a tattoo is considered almost criminal, you're a Yakuza if you have one, simple as that.
2. Some of them are "whole-body" ones, covering almost every inch (for instance this and this one)
Who knows, maybe Mario and Luigi got the front covered aswell

I like the Mario games, I like Yakuza (and Shenmue, best game ever, end of sidenote) so I guess this just had to happen...

*Actually sat down and slurped a big bowl of ramen at a place in Sapporo and this dude, with his whole arm tattooed from the wrist and up with dragon sat down, missing a finger and all... seemed real nice tho...haha (M&L has got theirs chopped off aswell)

These guys are all over japan, you see 'em in every street corner, just as natural as any pedestrian.
**A tattooist (!? xD) always leaves his signature, the white redish kanji thing you see just by the neck. The right hand Kanji reads "Miyamoto", which of course refers to Shigeru Miyamoto himself, and the left one says "Shinkawa" which is a translation of my name, roughly translated to "new river, new stream", in swedish tho
***Yeah, that's a mashup of the old logo for "New Super Mario Bros.(NDS) "and the logo for "Yakuza" (PS2). (play the game!)
