Something simple before Christmas, this one's actually a month or two old but I've not been able to scan it until now. Started as a sketch of sorts and then I decided to test myself and see how fast I could so something that looked decent and detailed but still would be a somewhat quick picture from start to finish. I did this one in three parts, all in all it took me 3½ hours, which is a lot faster than the 10+ things I usually draw...

Proves you can always do stuff faster when you just think about it, and although it's a little rough around the edges it still kinda looks like one of those details monsters I usually end up with after 20+ hours on a picture.

*This one's dedicated to my friend bag, over at :icononestepart:, whose mecha-fandom made me wanna draw a mecha-inspired picture myself :) Check out his gallery guys, he's gonna be big I tell you.
**Scanner messed up some parts of this picture, smudged it all over the place.. dunno why, better get me a new one soon :/

Hehe, compared to the stuff I usually draw.. xD But yeah.. I guess it's a bit above simple still.. but I'm trying to draw stuff faster and still add details enough to make it look good. But its hard D:

Thanks! Yeah.. that's was also a part of the experiment, actually... glad you noticed, and although it's not really spot on the forshortening-bits of this picture is something I feel I learned a bit by trying! :)
Glad you liked the details, somewhat my kinda thing, I always try to give a picture some love by adding details ;)

I struggle quite a bit with foreshortening quite a bit. Maybe I just need to practice it just a bit more?

Practice always works ;) It's just a bit hard to motivate, but I've found that if you just sit down, and do it, eventually you'll see the results. This one's not perfect, but its much better than if I'd drawn it like a year ago :O
So keep up the practice :D
