A painting I did for a friend, a birthday present. Super Metroid's one of his favorite games so I though it would be a cool thing to do if we painted a version of that classic SNES-game's intro sequence. The picture this is based on looks like this:

The photo's not great, but I think that the pixel version and the painting has that kind of HD-remix feeling to it like some of the remade SNES games (like the Street Fighter 2 HD Remix) has to it's original games. It's a pretty cool thing to have on your wall if you're a Metroid fan :) Hope all of you SNES-fans like it : D

*I named the piece "Lady" since that's Samus' nickname in some of the games, it's a bit cliché, but I like it in the context. Fits the feel of the character.

for me it was the BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!
low graphics, but the thing is... IT LOOKS REAL! low physical memory, and stuff, but it still had the greatest 2d physics! IT'S THE BEST GAME FOR ME AND NOTHING ELSE! >w<

It's really, really, really, really, really good. And it was loads of fun trying to paint this one where the reference was done with pixels but this one was painted with flowy soft acrylics :)
